Walk for HOPE

As many of you know, the primary church-wide fundraiser for the poor is the annual Walk for HOPE, coming up May 22. This year’s funds will be distributed to 10 food pantries and a donation for food insecure refugees in Ukraine.

Please pick up your fundraising packets in the lobby and help our neighbors locally and the many hurting people in Ukraine. You can set up a fundraising page and find lots of ideas online: www.hopeworldwidema.org/walk-for-hope-resources

The weekend of the walk will include many special events. Many dearly loved brothers and sisters from all over the US will be in town for the HOPE worldwide national board meeting: they will share good news and inspire our community outreach.

Pure in Heart Midweeks

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.                               —Matthew 5:8

Although we have made Jesus Lord, been washed in the blood of the lamb, and desire to be holy, holiness takes focus and effort in our walks with God and fellowship with one another.

Thanks to the Freedom Ministry and the Eldership, we are devoting two midweeks in April to holiness, specifically sexual purity. These lessons and discussions can apply not only struggles with sexual sin but also to all idols and sins in our lives.

This week’s midweek, April 20, as family groups (separate men and women, teens at the Lambs’) we will have an opportunity to be open and help each other be pure in heart. If you have not had a chance to see last week’s Pure in Heart lesson, please watch it online before your family group meeting. See Glenn’s email from earlier this week for more details.
