We are privileged to focus a portion of today’s worship service on the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr, and a key theme of his life: “Everyone can be great because everyone can serve.” (Matthew 23:11)

This morning we are honoring four students who have served their communities in a variety of ways, and who are winners of this year’s essay contest based on their service to others. Please welcome:

·       Stephanie Cassano, Adolescent Program Supervisor for MA DCF

·       And especially our four scholarship winners, based upon their submitted essays and their lives regarding greatness through service. All are outstanding representatives of the DCF foster care program and all are seeking to advance their life journey by higher education with a service focus.

Friday–Sunday, March 4–6, married couples are invited to gather at the Westin Portland Harborview (Portland, Maine), with couples from Northern New England for a weekend of inspiring and practical lessons, great fellowship, and time to focus specifically on connecting as spouses. John and Arlene Markowski will invite us into the very real, ridiculous, and sometimes heart-wrenching aspects of their twenty-year love story. We look forward to our own self-discovery, refreshing marital tools, and inspiration with “This Is Us.”.

Northwest parents of teens and teens are invited to our first NW teen family luncheon. The event will be held right after church next Sunday, February 20, in the cafeteria at Butler.

This will be a time for teen parents to fellowship, be encouraged, and be inspired.  As you know, it takes a village to raise children, and we are grateful to take this journey together. We strongly encourage all parents of teens to join us. Siblings of teens are also welcome to join us for lunch and hang out in the gym.
