Family Day Service

Sunday, June 12, is our Family Day service to celebrate our spiritual and physical families. Children will be in the service, and we will have a potluck with games and bounce house afterward. The service will include child dedications and honoring our high school graduates. This will be a great opportunity to invite our family and friends!

Volunteers Needed
We are looking for a few volunteers to supervise the bounce house and obstacle course inflatables and run a couple of carnival games at the family day service this Sunday. If you are willing to serve for a one-hour shift (11am-12noon or 12noon-1pm) please contact Kristen Lamb at kdlamb@...

Family Group Potluck
Please organize a potluck lunch with your family group to eat in the cafeteria or outside. Bring some games and make some memories!

*Something New This Year! - Graduating Senior Sendoff/College Survival Baskets
We will have a basket for each graduate to collect cards, notes of encouragement, and small items such as gift cards and snacks. You can even add small dorm supplies like pens, magnets, detergent, etc. Our class of 2022 includes Kylie Cadet, Katalina DeMaria, Chloe Hannon, Caleb Kinscheck, Hannah Kinscheck, Sarah Letourneau, and Kimberly Manyanga.

Child Dedication
At this service we will also have a time where parents with a child 3 years and younger can publicly dedicate their child to God before the spiritual family. The Bible tells us that children are a gift from God (Psalm 127) and that it is the responsibility of the parents to give their children the best chance to have a relationship with God.

This is not a ceremony for or about salvation, this is about intention and dedication. The parents of each child will bring their child on stage and read a scripture that they choose to help guide them as parents. The spirit of the event is similar to the way Hannah presented Samuel: “I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given to the Lord.” (1 Sam 1:27–28)

In Deuteronomy 6 we also see that the spiritual family has a responsibility in supporting the families in their responsibility. We will ask the congregation to dedicate themselves to pray for and encourage the children as they grow.

If you have a child age 0–3 you would like to include in the dedication, please contact the Lambs (mike_lamb@...).

On Sunday, June 12, we will honor this year’s high school and college graduates.
