We would like to include information about the graduates in the bulletin—high school and college graduates in our ministries, as well as other family members. Please send details to mike_lamb@... by Thursday, June 9. Please include this information, as applicable: · Name · Picture · High school, college, graduate school · Degree/ major · Honors/awards/distinctions/activities · Future plans Family DaySunday, June 12, is our Family Day service to celebrate our spiritual and physical families. Children will be in the service, and we will have a potluck with games and bounce house afterward. The service will include child dedications and honoring our high school graduates. Graduating Senior Sendoff/College Survival Baskets We will have a basket for each graduate to collect cards, notes of encouragement, and small items such as gift cards and snacks. You can even add small dorm supplies like pens, magnets, detergent, etc. Our class of 2022 includes Kylie Cadet, Katalina DeMaria, Chloe Hannon, Caleb Kinscheck, Hannah Kinscheck, Sarah Letourneau, and Kimberly Manyanga. Child Dedication At this service we will also have a time where parents with a child 3 years and younger can publicly dedicate their child to God before the spiritual family. The Bible tells us that children are a gift from God (Psalm 127) and that it is the responsibility of the parents to give their children the best chance to have a relationship with God. This is not a ceremony for or about salvation, this is about intention and dedication. The parents of each child will bring their child on stage and read a scripture that they choose to help guide them as parents. The spirit of the event is similar to the way Hannah presented Samuel: “I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given to the Lord.” (1 Sam 1:27–28) In Deuteronomy 6 we also see that the spiritual family has a responsibility in supporting the families in their responsibility. We will ask the congregation to dedicate themselves to pray for and encourage the children as they grow. If you have a child age 0–3 you would like to include in the dedication, please contact the Lambs (mike_lamb@...). Walk for HOPEThank you for your incredible hearts to bring HOPE to our community! Last week’s Walk was a great event in many ways. Young leaders Yovanny and Nicole Duran and Adam Roscoe took the lead in organizing the walk and food drive. The teens were a great help in transporting food donations to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank, and many volunteers walked around the Butler School campus. Some numbers: · The preteens had a blast selling cold Gatorades and raised $265! · 98 bags of food (930 lbs) were donated · So far, the region has donated $18,000 and the total for the church so far is $56,000. Please continue to pray and fundraise so that together with the larger body we can cross the finish line together.
